New York Comic Con just ended but didn't bring as much big news as I had expected. Still very exciting week for many of those who attended.

Kodansha announced that they will be releasing an
Attack on Titan anthology based on the popular Japanese anime and manga
Shingeki No Kyojin or better known as
Attack on Titan. The book will feature a ton of American comic creators such as Gail Simone, Scott Snyder, Babs Tarr, Cameron Stewart and many more. It will feature different short stories that the writers come up with. The book will be in full color and will be 250 pages long. I honestly jumped up and down when I heard this news. Attack on Titan is one of my favorite anime/manga so seeing that some of my favorite comic book writers teaming up to bring something different to the story. If you'd like to watch the anime, it is available on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Other comic book news announced was that Marvel will be publishing a
Captain Marvel young adult novel that will be created by Shannon Hale and Dean Hale. This will be a great way to get more girls into comics and welcome more readers. Also a great way to introduce this character to people before the movie gets released.

Marvel also released a teaser for the upcoming second season for
Daredevil. The footage teases a lot of what will be coming in the second season of the show like Elektra and the Punisher.
The first season of the show did very well and it seems like this upcoming season will also be a good one. This show shows a bit of the darker side of Marvel. Here's the link to the teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y44m5739m-4

Jared Leto with a Baboon mask |

Mark Ruffalo in disguise |
Jared Leto who will be playing the Joker in the upcoming DC movies and Mark Ruffalo who plays as Hulk in the Marvel movies were walking around New York comic con in disguise. Many con goers had no idea who was under the masks they wore as a disguise and even took pictures with some cosplayers. Many actors go to cons dressed up in costumes or masks to enjoy walking around the con floor without making a big scene.
